Trend Alert: Polka Dots

Polka dots have always come and gone in and out of the spotlight , so it’s only appropriate that it is brought back to life by none other than Louis Vuitton.  Louis Vuitton’s Creative Director, Marc Jacobs, has partnered with Yayoi Kusama to create a colorful campaign filled with bright polka dots ranging from clothes to shoes to sunglasses.

Polka dots have come a long way in fashion since the Minnie Mouse days, so don’t fret about looking like a cartoon. This trend can be worn many fashionable ways ranging from a classic black and white ensemble to fun color combinations ranging from orange to pink to blue. While it may seem like a daytime look, polka dots are definitely meant to be worn for evening too!

Here are a couple of celebrity inspirations!

Polka dots are meant to be fun and flirty, making for a ladylike look. I mean, how can you get more feminine than polka dots?! Play around with wearing big, bold polka dots or small and petite ones in dresses, skirts, shoes, or bags (but not all together).  Feel free to accent your polka dot outfit with a splash of a bright or neon color.  Whichever way you want to wear this trend, have fun and be bold!
